Business Can Be Simple If You Let It by Tony Jacowski

If making big money was easy, then everyone would be doing it. The fact of the matter is that making yourself successful in business is always going to come down principally to working hard as well as working smart. There are few, if any, short cuts that you can take, particularly in times as confused as those in which we are living. It is also highly unlikely for you to make money without having to spend money. In the current financial situation this is once again a tricky path to negotiate. What you must always remember, then, is that nothing comes easy, and when times are good you need to be feathering your nest for any potential fallow period. If you do this, you stand a better than even chance of things working out for you.

Business can be simple. It may seem that that line is a contradiction of everything said above, but remember that "simple" and "easy" are two very different things. Lifting heavy luggage can be perfectly simple. You grab it, you lift it and you struggle over to where you need to put it. It is not easy, but it is simple. Making a success of your business can be a similar thing. It will require work - often long, thankless, unrewarded work. But if it was easy, if it could be done just by flicking a switch, everyone would be doing it. If you have a sound business idea and work at it, then you can make it pay for you. The hard work is done up front, the promise of reward is in the future - and may just work out for you.

The truth of the matter is that not everyone can be successful. Although frequently misquoted and misapplied, Charles Darwin put forth the argument that the best adapted species and individuals would be the ones who thrived. Not the strongest -financial success is not all about having the best financial backing or the biggest name - but the best adapted. If you have the ideas, the work ethic and the ability to handle individual failures, then you will be in a position to thrive.

The ones who do not succeed generally fail for a reason. It may be circumstances beyond their control, but you need to be ready for those, and have contingency plans for when things go wrong. It is in doing the groundwork that you are likely to seal the failure or success of your business. If that work is done up front, the rest really can be simple. It is up to you to make it so.
